Creamy Shells & Cheese

Macaroni and cheese is an all-time classic! This creamy shells and cheese is packed with everything you love about macaroni and cheese, with the perfect pasta shape to hold all the cheesy goodness! 

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 25 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Level: Medium

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 8oz ProPasta Shells
  • 1/4 Cup salted butter
  • 1/4 Cup flour
  • 2 1/2 Cups whole milk
  • 12oz Sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 4oz American cheese, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

*Add in some diced Jalapeno and cooked bacon bits for a little kick to round out this dish

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cook ProPasta Shells according to package directions, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt butter and add the flour, whisk to combine and cook for 1-2 min or until mixture is golden brown.
  3. Reduce heat, slowly whisk in milk until smooth, simmer until thickened, whisking occasionally.
  4. Add the cheese slowly, whisking well until mixture is smooth.
  5. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  6. Add in pasta, stir, and serve immediately.
